The Whisky Cellar Tweet Tasting

Continuing our teeming throng of industry leading Tweet Tastings (the original series of virtual tastings), we’re thrilled and delighted to announce the details of our 250th event – and an absolute belter it is too!

On March 29th, we’ll be teaming up again with our very good friends at The Whisky Cellar, to pour and explore our way through some of their belting independent bottled bounty.

Not only will we be pouring and exploring our way through some of the releases from their latest batch of Private Cellars Selection bottlings, which to be honest would normally be a headline highlight in itself, but we’ll also be sampling something new and very special from their Pintail heritage brand.

When we say special, we mean exactly that, as our tasters will be some of the first to sample their new Pintail Glen Elgin 14 Year Old, which has undergone a secondary period of maturation in Floc de Gascogne Rouge cask. In fact this is the first single malt Scotch whisky to have ever undergone any period of maturation in these casks from the Côte de Gascogne and Armagnac regions of South West France.

Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series Competition

Be it for one of our Tweet Tastings or monthly bottle competitions, we love nothing more than being able to share and giveaway some amazing drops of dramspankage. Talking of which, for March we’re delighted to announce that we’re teaming up with our good friends at The Glasgow Distillery, to giveaway a bottle of their dramspankingly new 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish.

This latest limited-edition Small Batch Series bottling, is a single malt Scotch whisky, which has been produced by marrying together their Virgin American white oak matured peated whisky - finished in Bordeaux red wine casks, and their triple distilled first fill ex-Bourbon cask matured whisky – finished in ruby port casks.

The new Glasgow 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish, is the first from the distillery to feature two spirit styles that have undergone two maturation styles, and is said to deliver notes of red berries and dark fruits on the nose, followed by notes of toasted almonds, tobacco leaf and pink peppercorns on the palate.

For your chance to win a bottle of Glasgow 1770 Red Wine and Ruby Port Cask Finish click here to email us with your contact details and date of birth, along with the following phrase that dramming pays:

“Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah,
I’d like to pour and explore the
Glasgow Distillery newbie”
