Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes

That Boutique-y Whisky Company
14 Year Old Tennessee Bourbon Batch #1
52.2% ABV

Nose: Spiced maple syrup – grilled peaches – Demerara caramel – Madagascan vanilla pods – orange peel – smashed avocados - toffee popcorn – warm treacle tart - freshly brewed Columbian coffee – a just opened jar of Luxardo maraschino cherries – star anise – toasted oak.

Palate: Rye soaked sultanas – spiced maple syrup - cherry cough drops – pick n mix’ yellow foam bananas – candied orange peel – Demerara rum - warm Belgium waffles topped with a generous scoop of Häagen-Dazs cookies and cream ice cream – charred oak - toasted cedar and the slightest tease of Nestle mint Matchmakers.

Finish: A wham bam thank you dram, kind of a long, lush, lingering finish. That’s of course if you get to the finish! The nose alone is such a triumphant, teasing and tenacious Tennessean treat, that you’ll get so blissfully lost within all its nasal niceties and completely forget about moving on to explore its palatable pleasures - well, for a good while anyway!

Summary: This first batch of Boutique-y Tennessee bourbon, is so sumptuously smooth, right rollickingly rich, decadently delicious and so beautifully balanced for a 14 Year Old, that it's without doubt not only our favourite of all their American whisk(e)y releases to date, it’s also our overall American whisk(e)y of the year - so far!
