Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes

Ezra Brooks 99
Kentucky Straight Bourbon
49.5% ABV / RRP: £39.00

Nose: A charismatic charge of charred oak, dulce de leche, grilled peaches and vivacious waves of vanilla. Followed by dried apricots, orange peel, Luxardo maraschino cherries and caramelised fennel fronds. The nasal niceties continue confidently with freshly baked hot cross buns, peanut brittle, Lotus Biscoff biscuits, toffee popcorn, cinnamon, clove, dried grass, rye spice and a kiss of sweet menthol.

Palate: A breakfast bounty of maple syrup and butter drenched pancakes, crunchy nut cornflakes and rye toast smeared with orange marmalade. Rich vanilla, demerara sugar and dark chocolate covered coffee beans continue the palatable pleasures, along with honeycomb, anise, white pepper, cinnamon, clove, wood spice and a balancing menthol freshness.

Finish: A long lounging, round robust finish!

Summary: All in all, this is one uncomplicated (just what you need sometimes) big bang for buck bourbon belter. A gutsy and glorious drop of liquid americana, that sips like a dream and mixes up an absolute treat in the likes of an Old Fashioned.
