14 Year Old Barbados Single Blended Rum
Nose: Overripe banana skin - sherry steeped raisins – coffee soaked dates – cinnamon poached plums - Frank Coopers Oxford vintage marmalade – grilled pineapple rings - burnt caramel – a big wedge of Delia’s creole Christmas cake – gulab jamun (Indian dessert) – smoked walnuts – a tease of five spice and oodles of opulently charred oak.
Palate: Treacle drenched raisins, dates and sultanas - thick aged balsamic vinegar – salted caramel – baked plums – grilled peaches – clove studded oranges - sugared almonds - chocolate covered coffee beans - five spice – anise - ground white pepper and wondrous waves of wood spice.
Finish: A fabulously full on, feisty and spicy lingering finish.
