Jura Tweet Tasting

Continuing our teeming throng of industry leading Twitter trending Tweet Tastings (the original series of virtual tastings) we’re thrilled to announce that on June 1st we’re teaming up again with our very good friends at the Jura distillery, to pour and explore a sipsational selection of sensory stories.

The final dramming line-up is all hush hush for now, but teasingly I can say it may well include something new released just in time of the tasting and an exclusive first taste of something not being released until later in the year. So it’s definitely one not to miss!

If you fancy taking part in what promises to be a joyous and jubilant evening of all things Jura click here to register your interest by emailing your name, address, date of birth, mobile number and Twitter handle. Please also remember to mark the subject line of the email: #JuraWhisky

The closing date to register is May 17th, and if you are registering, please make sure that you will actually be free on the night to take part!

Even if you're not one of our lucky selected Tweet Tasters, it'd be great to have you following the evening’s dramfotainment. So we look forward to seeing you over on Twitter on June 1st from 19:00 BST via hashtag #JuraWhisky

Registration open to over 21's only!

Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes

Kentucky Owl - The Wiseman Bourbon
Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
45.4% ABV / RRP: £60.00

Nose: A medicinal medley of Benylin cough syrup, Tunes cherry lozenges and aniseed twists. Followed by clove studded orange, lemon zest, cayenne infused honey, Cadbury fudge, sugared almonds, ground allspice, sweet oak and some righteous rye spice.

Palate: Caramelised fennel fronds, rye spice and malt loaf smeared with butter and lime marmalade lead the palatable pleasure charge. Followed by notes of orange peel, maraschino cherries, walnuts, charred oak, ground black pepper, mixed spice and a mug of stewed black tea.

Finish: A feisty, full-on finish, that continues to be driven by those sweet, spiced and anise-based notes.

Summary: A right rollickingly rounded and rewarding drop of liquid Americana, that makes for a superb slow solo sipper. If you like to mix it up on the cocktail front, it also makes for a marvellous Manhattan and an outstanding Old Fashioned.
