Quick Fire Rum Tasting Notes

That Boutique-y Rum Company
Haiti 17 Year Old - Batch 3
59.2% ABV / RRP: £79.95

Nose: A fabulous and feisty fruitopia of banana bread, Alphonso mangos, granny smith apples, lime zest, sultanas and right rollickingly ripe pineapple. Followed by lashings of Ambrosia Devon custard, bread pudding, gingernut biscuits, anise, cardamom and a tease of sage.

Palate: More full-on, fruit led action, in the form of peach and apricot yogurt, Mirabelle plums, grilled pineapple rings, gooseberry jam, papaya and bourbon steeped sultanas. Followed by banana Angel Delight, treacle tart, grounds of black pepper and oodles of opulent wood spice.

Finish: A long, lush, sumptuously sweet, lip lickingly good finish!

Summary: A bountiful, balanced belter, that serves as well as it sips! As someone who loves their rum as much as their whisky, I’m almost ashamed to say that this is my first foray into all things Haitian - but what a rum-arkable way to start! I very much look forward to uncovering and discovering more of Haiti’s rum based sensory stories!
