Nose: Toffee apples, soft ripe conference pears, orange peel,
Luxardo maraschino cherries, bourbon steeped prunes, summer berries, candy
floss, cream soda, digestive biscuits, toasted pine nuts, polished oak, sawdust, wood spice, ground
ginger and a tease of soy sauce.
Palate: Poached pears dusted with a pinch of cayenne pepper,
pink lady apples, blood orange, summer berries, M&S morello cherry pie, digestive biscuits, Fry's
chocolate cream, ground ginger, cinnamon, anise, white pepper and wave upon wave
of wood spice.
Finish: A reassuringly rounded long finish, that keeps the palate
alive with its sassy spiced self.
Summary: Another absolute belter from Method and Madness. It’s
not the most complex whiskey to date from the experimental brand based at the Midleton
distillery, but it’s no less majestic than any of their previous bottlings. I can’t wait
to see what magic they apply to the method and madness of their next release!
