Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes #19

Arran Devil's Punch Bowl Chapter II

Nose: Sherry soaked raisins, currents and sultanas, lime zest, muscavado sugar, sweet musk, Fry’s Turkish delight, Madagascan vanilla pods, fresh oak, cedar, wood spice, cinnamon sticks, ground ginger, white pepper, Tiptree blackberry jelly, Daylesford organic pear juice, candied rose petals, lemon grass infused honey and a bowl of gulab jamun.

Palate: Sherry, wood spice, Bassett’s cherry drops, fresh ginger, dry oak, peppery butterscotch, Stokes seville orange marmalade, vanilla infused honey, Fry’s Chocolate cream, gooseberry & elderflower fool, summer fruit pudding and punctuating pinch-ette of peat.

Finish: A long lingering, feisty frolicking finish!

Summary: Well it looks like Arran have done it again. Absolutely loved the first edition of Devil’s Punch Bowl and although this latest offering doesn't quite reach the heights of the first, it’s still a bountiful, balanced belter!
