Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes #10

The Dalmore Valour

Nose: Fields of fresh and dried grass, heather infused honey, oven baked plums, demerara rum soaked sultanas, sticky toffee pudding, pineapple upside down cake, treacle tart, Ambrosia Devonshire custard, vanilla fudge, Robinsons orange barley water, a twist of pink grapefruit and a flouncing flurry of winter spice.

Palate: Fruit cake, fig rolls, warm homemade malt loaf, Paul A Young’s chocolate salted caramels, coffee fudge, Nestle Caramac bar, orange Starburst, dried pineapple chips, granny smith apples, wood spice, clove studded clementine’s, ground cinnamon and a generous spoonful of blackberry crème brûlée.

Finish: A fabulously feisty wood spiced, citrus twang of a finish, that neither under or overstays its welcome and exits as elegantly as it arrived.

Summary: A bountiful, balanced belter of a Dalmore, which unfortunately is only available through travel retail. So the next time you fly away keep your eyes peeled in the Duty Free.
