Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes #21

Kilchoman Single Bourbon Cask 5yr

Nose: Peat, burning rubber, Nescafe Azera instant coffee, chocolate limes, sherbet lemons, Waitrose blackberry and apple pie, Morrisons pear and almond tart, homemade digestive biscuits, Longley Farm rhubarb yogurt, dried blueberries, pink grapefruit zest, Belazu white balsamic vinegar and an echo or two of charred oak.

Palate: New bicycle inner tubes, bonfire ash, cola cubes, sherbet lemons, forest fruit crumble, Artisan du Chocolat milk chocolate salted caramels, ground white pepper, granary toast, Hartley’s gooseberry jam, Fortnum & Mason orange and ginger marmalade biscuits, freshly chopped parsley, Big Red cinnamon chewing gum and a puff-ette of a menthol cigarette.

Finish: A feisty, fruity, fresh finish that continues to flirt with the senses long after you’ve enjoyed your final sip.

Summary: Not so much a dram, more a very youthful malty mistress.
