Quick Fire Whisky Tasting Notes #20

Glen Garioch Virgin Oak

Nose: Tesco Finest bitter orange marmalade, Waitrose chocolate gingers, warm treacle tart, toasted macadamia nuts, freshly baked madeleine cakes, wood spice, clove studded ortaniques, a buttered slice of Jamaican fruit bun, wet modelling clay and a subtle hint of something super glue-esque.

Palate: Moist homemade ginger bread, Thorntons dark chocolate caramels, lime cordial, barley sugar, orange peel, strawberries, kiwis, nectarines, blackberries, wood spice, youthful oak, freshly grated nutmeg, ground cloves, cinnamon sticks and a big hearty spoon of vanilla crème brûlée.

Finish: A ginger fuelled, spiced, semi dry, lingering finish.

Summary: A gloriously garish and feisty frolicking new release from one of our favourite Highland distilleries.
